Bradley and Clarke put pen to paper

Lincoln Ladies are delighted to announce that England internationals Jess Clarke and Sophie Bradley have put pen to paper on new deals at the club.

Midfielder Clarke and defender Bradley have both pledged their futures to the Lady Imps, signing 1-year deals with a 2nd year option, much to the delight of Chief Executive Luke Negus-Hill.

"The close season is always a difficult time for clubs, with players out of contract and other teams showing interest in your players, so to have tied up two key contracts so early is fantastic news," explained Negus-Hill.

"Both Jess and Sophie appreciate the ambition that we have for Lincoln Ladies and what we are trying to achieve, so I am delighted that they have both shown their commitment to the club by signing new contracts."

Bradley, who represented Great Britain at the London 2012 Olympics this summer, said of the decision to sign a new deal: "I've been at Lincoln for two years now and it is clear to see that the club is ambitious and keen to move forwards, so I want to be a part of that.

"I think we have made progress, as a team, in the first two seasons of the FA WSL and now we have to look at kicking on from there and moving up the table, which is something I want to be a part of," the 22-year-old added.

"Lincoln Ladies have already helped me achieve my ambition of representing Great Britain at the London Olympics and I can only see my career going from strength to strength here, especially with some of the plans that the club has for the future."

Clarke added: "We have assembled a really strong squad at Lincoln and I honestly believe that we're on the verge of something special, so I wouldn't want to be playing my football anywhere else and I'm delighted to have got the contract sorted out so quickly.

"Now Sophie and I can start preparing for next season with the rest of the squad and start looking towards mounting a serious challenge in all competitions."

The latest news on any new signings and contract extensions will be brought to you here on the club's official website first, so please check back regularly.
