Baker joins the Lady Imps

Lincoln Ladies are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Ashley Baker.

The twenty year old shot stopper has just returned from the University of Georgia in the United States of America, committing herself to Lincoln.

Last year the England U-23 international kept six clean sheets in twenty two games for the University of Georgia last year.

Ashley, who stands at 5’ 10”, made the all-star team, as well as being named defensive MVP, as her university team claimed the league title in 2011.

Ashley, who was born in Grantham, Lincolnshire, featured for England at the U20’s World Cup in both 2008 and 2010 and is now a regular in the England set up at U23 level.

Lincoln Ladies Chief Executive Luke Negus-Hill was pleased with the Lady Imps first new signing for the forthcoming 2013 season. “Ashley is not only an exciting prospect as a goalkeeper for the future, but can offer a lot to the team now. She’s shown, throughout the England age groups, the quality that she possesses and can bring to Lincoln and we are delighted to have her here.”
